Our story

Good questions.
Good ingredients.

Scoop Theory started with a simple question: what if ice cream got the same care as a great meal?

Food scientist and Burlington local Hannah Cole brings a curious mind and a Vermont-sized appetite for good ingredients to every batch. We start with dairy from nearby farms, build flavors from scratch, and churn in small runs so every scoop has a little something to say.

Our Church Street shop is a place to pause, try something unexpected, and leave with a happier afternoon. Every morning, we fold fruit, spices, and other good ideas into small batches made to be shared.

Close to home

Where our dairy comes from.

Our ice cream begins with milk and cream from independent Vermont dairy partners. We choose regional producers for the freshness, care, and character they bring to every batch.

Nearby roots

Vermont dairy partners across the Champlain Valley and central Vermont.

Made in small batches

We churn in Burlington and make flavors from scratch, in season.
